For sale on behalf of a very good customer/friend, this Sunbeam Alpine sports car has had a lot of money spent on it over recent years, but there is still work to be done – hence the price. The bodywork has had much renovation and presents quite well. The interior of the car needs some improvement although the seats and hood are good, and the carpets are useable. The underside of the car appears to be structurally good as are the wire wheels, and there are four nearly-new matching tyres. The engine has been running well although it has just developed a misfire, as the twin choke Solex carburettor needs setting up correctly. This is an overdrive model, but unfortunately this isn’t operational at the moment – probably an electrical issue. There is an MOT to October 2018 with a few advisories – mainly suspension bushes and two rubber brake hoses to sort out. To summarise, this is an inexpensive example of a very desirable sports car which, when improved could fetch well into the high teens. A little work would soon have the car properly on the road to enjoy and further improve. V5C, history/old invoice file.
