1934 Rover 10 Light Sports Saloon

1934 Rover 10 Light Sports Saloon

A rare and beautiful beast! This car is a real delight to own and drive. It was a very advanced car in its day, and quite luxuriously fitted out inside. Here are some comments from a journalist describing the car in 1934:

...'a genuine speed of 65-67 mph against a strong headwind on wet roads ...'
... 'swooping acceleration' ...
... 'remarkable braking'...
... 'absurdly easy gear change'...
... 'no discomfort at high speeds over rough, uneasy surfaces' ...

So as you can see, this is some motor car! It is in great condition throughout and runs and drives extremely well with its 4-speed gearbox and freewheel facility. Leather upholstery, dark blue carpets throughout, sunroof, opening front screen and twin wipers (please note, the front flasher has been reattached). Very spacious inside. Extensive history, handbooks etc. V5C. One not to be missed.

Good wheels and tyres, good chassis and running gear, some history, including buff log book. V5C. Ready to use.

A superb, restored car in delightful condition, well finished in black and green. Fully restored interior, including seats, headlining, and carpets. Working sunroof, wind-out front window, and even the choice of semaphores or flashers. Excellent chrome. The car is just as good underneath, with good wheels and tyres and brand new battery. A joy to drive - starts well, nice smooth synchromesh gearbox, good brakes and steering - this really is a good car and would probably make a good wedding car. A lovely looking car, in splendid condition, and definitely one of the best available at the moment. Finished in a most attractive peony red with black wings, the car was well restored a few years ago and has been maintained to an excellent standard since then. Everything works as it should, apart from the upside down fuel gauge. Beautiful interior with leather seating, as-new headlining, good carpets and working sunroof. The car also has opening windscreen, sought-after original headlamps, working semaphores and luggage rack. Drives well, stops well, nice gearbox. Excellent underneath. All in all, just ready to use and enjoy. Will MoT next week. V5C.

  1930 Morris Minor Coachbuilt Saloon

A very nice vintage OHC engined Minor, now becoming quite difficult to find. Restored a number of years ago, and finished in a nicely patinated red and black, with excellent interior. Good, working folding head and headlining, excellent wheels and tyres, the chromework and underside of the car are all very good. This is a good car for VSCC events - a VSCC eligibility certificate comes with it - and it was timed at 55 mph in July 2004. Runs and drives nicely, new clutch, new gearbox bearings. A super little car serviced and ready to go. V5C.

1934 Talbot 65AX Light Saloon

  1934 Talbot 65AX Light Saloon

An absolutely superb car, in terrific condition, designed by Georges Roesch with body by Darracq - only 8 of these cars are believed still to be in existence. Around 1997, a ten year body-off restoration was carried out, resulting in what can only be described as a splendid motor car. First class interior, body and mechanics. These cars have a 6 cylinder 1666 cc engine, with Wilson pre-select 4-speed gearbox, reputedly giving around 65mph cruising speed. 14 hp rating, 12v electrics, 16" drum brakes. A very well designed and advanced car for its day. V5C.

1932 Morris Cowley Light Van

  1930/32 Morris Van

This is a good, sound example of a very rare Morris Cowley Flatnose van, which has recently been discovered after long-term storage in Northern Ireland. It is ideal for a relatively easy and extremely worthwhile restoration. Apparently, the engine will run although we have not started it ourselves yet.
It has a magneto engine with dynastart. There is no battery fitted or electrical ancillaries. There is no paperwork with the van, but there is a chassis plate and this dates the vehicle to mid 1932. We think the engine is the original as the number on the engine matches the number on the identification plate. The Morris Register will help to register this vehicle, and as it has a clear identity, this should not be a problem.
The van measures approx. 13'2" in length, 60" wide, and 78" high.

Please telephone to discuss the van.

1937 Austin Big Seven 6 Light 4 Door

1937 Austin Big Seven 6 Light 4 Door

For full restoration. An excellent and worthwhile project, as these cars are marvellous when in good condition, with all the charm of a Ruby but more space. The engine has already been worked on, including re-bore, new pistons/rings, bearings etc. It has the better Austin 8 engine, a very common upgrade. The car starts, runs and drives and the gearbox, drive train and brakes all operate. The chassis is very sound, the bodywork is reasonable but the interior is very poor. V5C and we are told this is the original registration number (non-transferable).

Austin 7 Mulliner Sports Replica (1930)

Austin 7 Mulliner Sports Replica (1930)

This is an excellent re-creation of the rare Mulliner 2 Seater Sports, built during 1929, 1930 and 1931. Original 1930 chassis, running gear and radiator, with newly built fabric-covered body and aluminium bonnet, all finished to a very good standard. This car is great fun to drive, with its 3-speed crash box and slightly ‘breathed upon’ engine. The engine has been fully rebuilt, with improved oil pump system, big sump, high compression polished head, balanced combustion chambers, new plus 0.030 pistons, ALR inlet manifold, 4-branch exhaust manifold and SU carb. The car is registered with the DVLA after authentication by the Pre-War Austin Seven Club. V5C. All in all, a great, very good-looking car for not much money. 1937 Austin 7 Ruby Mark II

1937 Austin 7 Ruby Mark II

This little Ruby is a tidy example of the Mark II version, finished in the popular colour scheme of red and black. It has chrome headlamps and bumper bars, and a working sunroof, making it the de-luxe model. Standing on good wire wheels, the car runs very well, it starts on-the-button, and drives nicely through the gears with quiet clutch and brakes. An ideal 'first' Austin 7 to use and improve. I have just given the engine a tune-up and changed the oil and it is ready for the 'off'!! V5C and picnic basket!

1935 Morris 8 Series I

  1935 Morris 8 Series I

This two door sliding head saloon left Cowley on 12 April 1935. It was restored in 1989 and has been used regularly ever since. It has recently been living the high life on the Isle of Wight. It is in good all round condition, with a very nice interior, all the upholstery is excellent including the headlining. The sliding sunroof works well. It runs and drives smoothly and now has a brand new MoT certificate. The tyres are excellent and the engine has good oil pressure and everything seems to work as it should do. The car has been fitted with flashers for safety reasons, but the semaphores do work. V5C, some history. Complete with picnic basket.

All in very good condition. the car is in good mechanical order, and drives very well, with nice steering, gear change and brakes. Good oil pressure. The previous owner, who owned the car for 16 years, informs us that he had recently rebuilt the engine. The car has the rear wheel cover, which is now difficult to find, and good chrome bumpers. 1935 Austin 7 Nippy

  1935 Austin 7 Nippy

This little car is great fun, I have just been bombing around the orchard in it, and it goes very well. It is perfectly useable as it is, but it does need some cosmetic attention, particularly to the upholstery. The engine is sweet as a nut, and the car is quick. Good gear change and brakes. A good budget-priced Nippy, now extremely hard to find - fully restored examples are now fetching upwards of £15,000. Please note that this car has a later Ruby engine fitted. V5C and taxed.

1938 Austin Big Seven 6 Light 4 Door

  1938 Austin Big Seven

This is a smashing little car in good condition, having just been recommissioned after a little ‘sleep’. These Big Sevens are more spacious than, and just as attractive as the Austin 7 Ruby, and with their slightly bigger engine, they offer very practical pre-war motoring.

This particular car is structurally very good, excellent underneath, and a strong engine with good oil pressure. Starts easily, runs and drives well, with easy to use 4-speed gearbox. Paintwork is good, with only one or two imperfections, finished in a very nice shade of blue with black wings. Seats are good, and door cards are original and would polish up well.

The car has just gone through its MoT test. V5C.

1938 Austin Big Seven Van

  1938 Austin Big Seven Van

Absolutely splendid little van in excellent condition, having been recently fully restored. Originally converted from a car in the 1980s. The recent, full body-off restoration included a complete repaint, re-timbering of the bodywork refurbishment of the engine and chassis. It has the later Austin 8 engine, a highly desirable conversion. The van starts on the button, has good oil pressure, and everything works. Good wheels and tyres. MoT to August 2015. V5C. The lettering is easily removable, the van would make an excellent advertising medium or show vehicle.

In all, the vehicle has a lovely patina. Starts well, with good oil pressure, drives well, good battery (12v), tyres and exhaust. 1968 Austin 1800 Mark II

  1968 Austin 1800 Mark II

What a delightful car to drive - this car is in very good order throughout, and probably drives as well as it did when it left the factory. In fact, I drove it 60 miles home yesterday and had no problems whatsoever in keeping up with modern traffic - even up Sutton Bank (1 in 4)!!!

The interior is excellent, including headlining and carpets which were renewed in 2013. The car has excellent tyres and exhaust, and starts on-the-button. Bodily, the car is good, with only a few little areas that could be improved including a little bit of paintwork. This is a great family car, both spacious and COOL!!! We think it could easily be used daily. This car should appeal to all those who want a classic they can remember their dad driving, and that is very useable, hip and trendy! Not many of these cars survive, and certainly not in such good, original condition. Log book shows 4 previous owners since 1968 and there is a handwritten record of maintenance since 1971. MoT to May 2015, V5C.

Great engine with pressure-fed Phoenix crank and rods, high compression head, Tim Myall race cam, deep sump, super-light flywheel, 4-speed close ration gearbox, Dunlop racing tyres, and lots of leg room.

Good oil pressure, charging system works. Flashing indicators have been fitted for safety. We think it has its original engine. V5C and buff log book dating back to 1945.

1968 MGC GT 3Ltr Sports Coupe

A super sports car, with manufacturer's claimed top speed of 126 mph, and 0-60 in 8.8 seconds. This car is structurally very good, having had extensive renovation some years ago, including sills etc. Nice, clean engine bay, good, very original interior with leather seats, original type rubber mats and walnut dashboard. Good sunroof. Body work very good, but the paintwork could be better.

The car drives very well with strong engine and good oil pressure. I think everything works, but the rev counter and overdrive switch need attention. A repaint would make this car first class.

Original green logbook, V5, V5C. MoT to April 2015, taxed exempt). Heritage certificate. A genuine MGC which you can drive and enjoy immediately.

A nice little pre-war car, in pretty good shape that won’t break the bank. Starts well, runs well and drives nicely, with good, clean bodywork and interior, ready for immediate use. We sold this car to a customer about a year ago, and we have taken it in part-exchange against another Austin 7 he has bought from us, so we know the car very well. A good all-round car at bargain price. V5C.

1966 Morris Minor 1000

  1966 Morris Minor 1000

Meet Gladys! An excellent example of the iconic Morris Minor, named by a previous owner after Nurse Gladys Emmanuelle from Open All Hours – she drove one just like it! The car is finished in the famous Morris Minor light blue (known as Smoke Grey we believe), recently re-trimmed including seats, carpets and headlining. £1000s have been spent on this car, including restoration work at the Morris Minor Centre Ltd in Bath (it has now moved to Bristol), leaving it in very good all round condition. This is the more desirable four-door model, which is a delight to drive, it goes very well, changes gear well and stops well. Starts on the button. Morris Minors fill the gap between modern motor cars and pre-war motor cars – they are easier to drive, go more quickly and are still a great deal of fun. So if you find that vintage cars are not quite right for you, but want something a little different and interesting, you should come and give this a try. We are sure this would make a good ‘daily user’. V5C, MoT to May 2015, lots of old invoices.

  1934 Standard Nine

This is an excellent little car with nice patina, first registered in Rhyl in September 1934, then taken off the road in 1939 at the outbreak of the Second World War. Later on, the car was put into a museum, which explains the low mileage on the clock (around 17,500) which the previous owner believes to be correct, although we have no proof for this. The last owner had the car since 2006. Structurally and bodily, the car seems to be very good, with very nice, original seating, new headlining and renewed carpets. Good working sunroof, good, nearly new tyres. A nice, smooth car to drive, ready for summer rallies. There doesn't seem to be anything to do to the car immediately, apart from maybe a quick service and MoT. V5C and original logbook. A splendid car, at a realistic price, don't miss it!

A good 'starter' Austin 7 to use and improve. A little scruffy in places, but this all adds to the character. This little car goes and drives very well. There is some blooming to the windscreen. Apart from needing a bit of tlc, this is a good little car, and great fun to drive. The previous owner used it regularly on the run to work. No offers on this one, please.

History file includes buff logbook from 1959, later registration documents, Mot history (last MoTd 2012), tax discs, list of previous owners, receipts for work done and photographs. V5C.

Until we picked this little car up, it hadn't turned a wheel since around 1980, when it was parked up in its garage in good, useable order, we are told. It has been kept totally dry and appears to be very solid, totally original, and it appears to be complete. This car would make a straightforward restoration. The engine turns and the car rolls around quite easily now we have blown the tyres up. Unfortunately, there is no log book, so the car would need to be re-registered with the DVLA, no doubt the Pre-war Austin Seven Club would help you with this. This is a great find, original, unrestored cars are very scarce now.

WE HAVE JUST FOUND AN ORIGINAL TAX DISC IN THE CAR, AND ALSO, THE ORIGINAL NUMBER PLATE IS STILL ATTACHED. Both of these will help with re-registration.

The car will be available to view and purchase at Beaulieu Autojumble, from Saturday 17 May (not Friday when a lot of stall holders set up). We are in the Green Field, Stand 161/161B.

In the meantime, please feel free to telephone for more information.

  1937 Austin 12 New Ascot

This is an excellent car with really good history, including the original registration document from April 1937, buff continuation log book, green continuation log book and a set of old MoT certificates, the most recent of which expired July 2013. There is even the original Manufacturer's Warranty supplied by the Austin Motor Company Ltd when the car was new.

The car is in splendid condition having undergone a body restoration and repaint a few years ago. The chassis and mechanics appear to be excellent. The interior is also excellent, with original leather seating, new carpets and headlining. This would have been a very luxurious car in its day. It starts well and is a pleasure to drive, spacious and smooth, and would make a good wedding car, or ideal for family outings. Complete with V5C.

  1938 Austin Big 7

Smashing little car in really good condition. It has clearly had a lot of work carried out over the years including a repaint. The bodywork is good, well finished in maroon with black wings. Complete with working sunroof. The interior is very good, partly original, which adds to the charm of the car, and the headlining is new. Mechanically the car seems good but it has not been used for the last two years, owing to personal circumstances.

These cars are very under-rated and now is a good time to buy one before prices rise quickly like they have with the Austin 7 Ruby. This has all the charm of a Ruby but has much more space and is easier to drive, with better performance from the bigger engine. This little car comes with V5C, continuation logbook from the 1950s and lots of paperwork.

Running and driving Austin 7 Ruby Mark I, in need of tlc. The car has been off the road for a while, but I have put some new petrol in, and fitted a battery, and the car started immediately. Needs a good service, some areas of the bodywork could be improved, particularly the running boards. The paintwork is fairly good, and the interior is good including new headlining.   1926 Standard 14/28 HP Stratford All-Weather Tourer

We are pleased to offer for sale this rare Standard Tourer. We understand that many of these were exported to Australia, and that there are not many now known to be in the UK. This particular model was first registered on 17 December 1926 and was supplied by Liverpool dealer, C A Britten & Co. It would appear to have had only 3 owners, and was treated to an extensive restoration some twenty years ago, including body and mechanical rebuild and new hood. The car has a 1944cc ohv engine (known as the V4)which reputedly gives a creditable top speed of 52 mph. This was the first Standard to have four wheel brakes.

The car is still in good condition but has not been used much in recent years and needs a little tlc and a full service. V5C.

1937 Morris 8

  1937 Morris 8

Good-looking car, finished in the attractive blue and black colour combination. This car is in pretty good condition, but has not been regularly used for some time. Good paintwork and interior, original headlining, but in good condition. Sliding sunroof which needs a little attention. Starts 'on the button' and runs smoothly, good 3-speed gearbox. The car needs a good service and four new tyres (plenty of tread, but a little cracking around the sides). Good, budget-priced Morris 8, which will easily improve whilst you are using it. These cars, in top condition are now fetching upwards of £7,500. Has V5.

(Please note that the mottling in the photos is caused by the sun dappling the paintwork and is not in the paintwork itself.)

  1950 MG YA

First registered in November 1950, this black MG Y Type appears to be very sound, but is offered for sale as a restoration project. The bodywork is good, with well-fitting doors, good wings and bonnet. The car appears to be complete including the interior, but as you can see from the photographs, needs reupholstering. Nice, original dashboard, instruments, steering wheel and door cappings. Steel sunroof. The car was used as a daily driver until 12 years ago when it was put into dry storage. It now requires some work to get it back on the road. These cars are now fetching in excess of £15,000 when restored, so this example is being offered at a very realistic price for a car in this condition. V5C, V5 and green continuation book.   1936 Morris 8

An excellent chrome radiator version of this ever-popular Morris. Finished in what we think is the best colour scheme of black and green, with green interior. The car was restored a few years ago and is in good overall condition, with excellent paintwork, good mechanics and refurbished interior, including headlining. Excellent body with well-fitting doors. Chrome work is good without being perfect. The car has not been used much since the restoration, so the brakes need servicing, or bedding in, otherwise, in our opinion there is not much to do. A great little car that will comfortably seat four people.

A good little car, which just needs a bit more work. This two seater underwent a lot of restoration around 13 years ago, including repaint and retrim, and mechanical work. We have a large file with bills etc from this restoration. The paintwork is fairly good, as are the upholstery, hood and sidescreens. The car starts and runs quite well, but could do with a good tune-up, brake service, and a little tlc. The windscreen frame and glass are missing, but with these fitted, the car should be up and running and ready to go for MoT. A car to use and improve once the above matters have been attended to. It needs recommissioning, ie a good service and check over prior to MoT (highly recommended). Finished in maroon and black, with dark red upholstery, excellent headlining and black carpets. 1930 Austin 7 Chummy

  1937 Austin 7 Opal

Excellent, fully restored car, first registered 14 July 1930. Resplendent in maroon and black. Some history, including photos of the car before the rebuild and old buff logbook back to 1955.

We believe this to be the original engine, nice 3-speed gearbox, drives very well. Excellent condition throughout, including bodywork, paintwork, chassis and running gear and upholstery. Good hood and sidescreens. Everything works properly apart from the windscreen wiper.

A great little car in all respects, great fun and very keenly priced, so serious enquiries only please. MoT to August 2013.

Please telephone for more information. We are always happy to consider part-exchange for other pre-war or early post-war vehicles, and can offer delivery at economic rates.

1928 Austin 7 RK Fabric Saloon

1928 Austin 7 RK Fabric Saloon

A delightful little car in very good condition, sympathetically restored in the 1980s. Excellent mechanics, drives very well and is very sprightly. Good oil pressure. The fabric is in good condition. Much of the interior is original. MoT to April 2014, V5C and continuation log book from 1951. There is also a letter on file from the Wimbledon Motor Works, confirming the original sale on 23rd May 1928. Old MoT certificates and VSCC eligibility document. A cheeky little number, not to be missed!

Quote from an original Austin Seven advertisement:

The Austin Seven 'Fabric' Saloon "Easily the best small car in the world."

1930 Austin 7 Ulster Replica

  1930 Austin 7 Ulster Replica

Built from a 1930 Box Saloon with short chassis, this is a first class, newly built Ulster Replica which is terrific fun to drive and is beautifully finished. Aluminium body from 'Compound Curvatures', 2 bearing engine (fully rebuilt), dropped front axle from 'Pigsty Racing' - everything overhauled or renewed, making this an 'as new' car. It has a high compression head and hydraulic brakes and 4 speed synchro box, otherwise, the car has standard 1930s Austin 7 mechanics. Full tonneau cover. Only 25 miles since build and for sale only due to previous owner's change of circumstances. We don't think you will find a better one of these for the money or even anywhere near the money. Ready to use and enjoy. V5C.

1931 Austin 7 RN Box Saloon

1931 Austin 7 RN Box Saloon

This is an excellent example of the ever-popular RN Saloon, restored a few years ago, and in very nice condition throughout. Good chassis and running gear, goo paintwork, seats, headlining, door cards. Sliding sunroof. Good 6 volt battery. Great record of the car's history, with original logbook from December 1931, two continuation logbooks and V5C. All matching numbers with original engine. Just needs a brake service. Excellent value.

Quote from the Ausin Seven Handbook:

'The Austin Seven in particularly suitable for the woman driver. It requires little physical effort to drive and control, and for that reason its use enables her to do shopping calls without fatigue, visit her friends, attend social and other functions, or make excursions or trips in any direction in any weather.' 1932 Morris Minor Family Eight Saloon

1932 Morris Minor Family Eight Saloon

These cars are scarce now, offering much more space than the two door Morris Minor - quote from the original sales brochure:

'Inspection of the body accommodation of the "Eddyfree" fronted Morris Family Eight Saloon reveals that there is ample room for four persons. What is more, the four-door body enables each location to be reached with the minimum of effort. The rear seats give ample leg room for persons of full stature and long journeys can be accomplished without any suggestion of fatigue. The Pytchley sliding head is neat in appearance, easily operated and weather-proof when closed. A hinged windscreen and four winding windows in the doors give ample control over ventilation, and the six-light body is handsome in appearance, very pleasant to ride in and is very tastefully upholstered.'

This example is in need of full restoration, seems to be more or less complete and would be a fairly straightforward project, although there will be some woodwork to replace. The metalwork is excellent, and the chassis and running gear appear sound. The engine turns but has not run for a few years. Well worth restoring or alternatively, would make an excellent two- or four-seater tourer. Continuation logbook from 1958, and V5C.

1931 Morris Minor Tourer

  1931 Morris Minor Tourer

A very original car in sound condition, with good chassis and bodywork. Very good canvas hood and sidescreens (no damage), and good interior, although this could do with a clean. All original fittings, including detachable front apron. This car has been off the road for some time and needs recommissioning; the engine does not run at the moment, but does turn and with a little tlc, this will make a very good, useable car, which could be run as it is, or improved. We like it as it is. V5C.
