Firstly, we would say that this is by far the best Austin Seven Chummy we have ever offered for sale. It is in absolutely splendid condition, having undergone an extensive, quality restoration over a three year period, approximately 1998-2001. The entire body and mechanics were restored and a brand new leather interior fitted, together with mohair hood. The blue and black paintwork is in first class condition and was expertly executed. The door fits are perfect and the underside of the car is just as good, including wheels and tyres. The only alteration to standard, as far as we know, is that a brand new SU carburettor has been fitted (for the purists, the original comes with the car), the result being that it starts easily and is very responsive, with extremely good performance. The engine runs quietly with plenty of power and the clutch, gearbox, back axle and brakes are all first class. The car has been owned by the same family for 60 years. The history file includes invoices for the rebuild, buff logbook dating back to 1948. This car would improve any collection and is totally useable on a regular basis. Comes with V5C.
We are always pleased to consider part-exchange for other pre-war cars or early post-war cars, (or for good MGBs) and can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.
