 1953 Triumph Mayflower

What a splendid little car – best described as an ‘R Type’ Bentley in Small!  Superb, advanced 1950s styling and offering lots of space for the family, including good sized boot, all in very good order and representing great value for money.  The car is easy to drive with light steering, and an easy to operate and very smooth 3-speed column change gearbox.  It starts easily and drives very well indeed – when new, these cars were capable of 65mph.  The engine was rebuilt two years ago, it was re-bored, and had new pistons and bearings and a full de-coke.  The water pump, starter motor and dynamo were serviced, a new radiator was fitted, and new brake linings with reconditioned wheel cylinders, together with a reconditioned master cylinder were fitted.  The steering was overhauled and rear hub bearings renewed along with prop-shaft joints.  The tyres and exhaust system were also renewed.  The bodywork is excellent with good black paintwork which just has a few minor blemishes as is normal with cars of this age.  The doors and bonnet fit well, and the chrome work is generally very good.  The renovated interior of the car would appear to be totally original in specification, and is in absolutely superb condition with everything operating as it should.  The underside is good and sound.  Runs on 12v.  V5C.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange for other pre-war or early post-war cars, (or for good MGBs) and can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.
