An original, early Austin Seven Chummy, known as the ‘Pram Hood’ model for obvious reasons. It was first registered on 5 September 1925, and retains its original registration number. The car was restored a few years ago, and is in very good condition, retaining most of its original fittings. The tin work is good, as is the paint work, and the interior of the car is very smart indeed and to the original specification. The hood, its frame and side screens, which have hardly been used, are again, in good condition and there is also a hood bag – all these are canvas. The four matching tyres are pretty much like new and the wheels are in good condition. The underside of the car is neat and tidy, whilst showing that the car has been used. The engine starts easily and runs very smoothly and quietly (for and Austin Seven!) and the 3-speed crash gearbox is easy to use – even the little reverse selector works. The brakes are probably the best Austin Seven brakes we have ever tried. The only modifications as far as we know, are the fitting of an oil pressure gauge and an updated ignition system (from Willie McKenzie). The car comes with V5C, two old continuation books, correspondence from the DVLA confirming correct chassis number etc. lots of old MOTs. A very straight, rust-free Austin Seven, well known in the Dorset area. These early pram hood models are now quite rare, and we are offering this example at a very advantageous price.
