A nice example of this very pretty two seater Austin Seven sports, the ‘Type 65’ was the forerunner of the ‘Nippy’ and is now quite rare, so don’t miss this opportunity. The car was restored during the late 1980s, has remained in the same family ownership ever since, and is now reluctantly offered for sale. The bodywork is very good, including the paintwork, the interior is well-used but the seats are very good, so a little bit of re-trimming would make it excellent. The PVC hood and side screens are good. The underside of the car is good and sound and clean and tidy, but not to show standard. The car starts and runs well and is great fun to drive. Unfortunately, the original sports engine is no longer with the car and a replacement engine was fitted many years ago – we have no details on its internals. However, it does have the correct carburettor and inlet manifold, together with finned tappet chest cover, and a later cylinder head. The performance is enhanced by a ‘bunch of bananas’ exhaust manifold. The price of the car takes all of this into account, and we cannot ‘magic up’ a Type 65, engine, so please don’t ask! Comes with original registration number, V5C, old V5, some paperwork going back to 1986 and a batch of old MOTs. What are you waiting for?!
