We are very pleased to offer for sale a genuine factory-built V8, first registered in September 1973. The car has had only five owners according to the V5C and is finished in the lovely colour of Damask Red, with very dark blue leather interior, good dark navy carpets, and walnut dashboard. The wheels are original, which makes a nice change, and are fitted with proper Firestone tryres. The car was originally restored during the 1980s and then the paintwork was refreshed in 2002 (it would benefit from a refresh again now, hence the price). Recently, the engine has had a full top-end engine rebuild and is fitted with a 3.9 cam – we have a list of work carried out to the engine. It runs on standard front suspension with telescopic shock absorbers at the rear. The brakes are standard with recent new discs, drums, shoes and copper brake pipes, together with braided stainless steel flexible hoses. Recent brake master cylinder. The engine runs well and sounds great, using original cast iron manifolds mated to a big bore stainless steel exhaust. Renovated fuel system including tank. K & N air filters. Converted to one 12 volt battery. The bodywork of the car is structurally very good indeed and it is very clean underneath. This car performs very well and is a pleasure to drive. Comes with lots of paperwork, including old invoices, old MOTs, manual and V5C.
If you are interested in the car, please telephone (PLEASE don’t email your questions). We can tell you more and answer any questions you have – it’s so much quicker by phone, and to be honest, since lockdown, we have been inundated by email enquiries which take so long to answer.
We are always pleased to consider part-exchange especially for good MGs, or for othe interesting classics, and we can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.
We also sell cars on a commission basis – no sale, no charge.
Please telephone for more information on 01723 859886 or 07876 741183 (please, no texts) at any reasonable hour, 7 days a week.
