This is a delightful old car, which has been in its current ownership for almost 20 years. It was first registered in July 1953, having been built in the June of 1953 – so a very quick sale was achieved! Finished in MG Red with beige upholstery, black canvas hood and chrome wire wheels – what more could you want? The car comes with a very good service record going back to 2006 (we don’t have any history before 2005, so please don’t ask!). It is in generally good order, with just a few age-related marks to the bodywork, but nothing to worry about. Inside the car, which was retrimmed in 2005, you will find nicely matured leather seats, excellent, correct-style door cards, a tidy dashboard with rare original steering wheel, and good rear luggage compartment. The canvas hood fits well and is in good order and there is a full tonneau, again in canvas. The chrome work is generally good, including the very useful luggage rack, and good condition chrome wire wheels, with matching Avon tyres all round. Mechanically, the car is in pretty good fettle and has an MOT certificate to June 2027. The matching numbers engine was rebuilt in 2018, so is in good order, with good oil pressure etc. As find with most T Types, the underside is structurally very good and very clean and tidy. The engine bay has been well-maintained although a little minor cleaning would further improve it. The car is great fun to drive with good performance and easy gear change. Paperwork includes lots of old invoices, old MOT certificates back to 2006 when mileage showed 68,000, V5C and workshop manual. These TDs offer excellent value for money and perform perfectly well in modern traffic.
