1938 MG TA – £19,500

1938 MG TA

It is good to be offering for sale another nice, original MG TA, complete with what we understand to be its original registration number.   Extensively restored in the 1980s to include work to the body, interior, engine etc, this car has been owned by the same family for the last 8 years, and is only for sale due to personal circumstances.  Although not much used over the last two years, it is running and driving (see video) but could really do with a full service.  The engine sounds fine with good oil pressure, the brakes appear to be good, and all electrics are working fine, including the only modification that we are aware of – a recently fitted alternator.  We understand that the car retains its original MPJG engine and gearbox, along with most of the other mechanical components. This car is in nice condition, with good paintwork, only a few minor blemishes, well-fitting doors and a nicely patinated interior in Oxblood Red.  The hood and side screens are in good condition, although the hood would benefit from a little re-colouring – a very easy job.  The chromework is good, as are the radiator slats and the painted wire wheels.  The under-bonnet area is in nice condition, and the underside is clean and tidy.  Paperwork file includes old invoices, details of the restoration, old MOT certificates workshop manual, current V5C and old buff registration document.  This is a charming old car in nice condition, very useable, and at a very reasonable price.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange especially for good MGs, or for other interesting classics, and we can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.

We also sell cars on a commission basis – no sale, no charge.

1971 MGB Roadster with Overdrive – £13,500

1971 MGB Roadster with Overdrive

We are pleased to offer for sale this very fine example of the iconic MGB.  This car was first registered in March 1971 and offers everything you would want from a roadster.  Finished in surely one of the favourite colours, British Racing Green, with oatmeal interior, it stands on Minator knock-on alloy wheels and comes with the highly desirable overdrive.  The car was rebuilt onto a new Heritage shell in the year 2000 and we understand that at some stage an Oselli 1950cc tuned engine (possibly Stage II) was fitted.  The car is in excellent condition throughout with good paintwork – only a few minor blemishes – and a very nice interior, with leather-faced seats, matching door trims, dashboard top and carpets, all in good order.  The under-bonnet area is also good, and well finished in the same colour as the car.  The underside is clean and tidy and the structure appears to be up-to-the-mark,  the vinyl hood fits well, has no damage and the windows are all very clear.  The boot area is nicely carpeted, as you can see.  The matching tyres all have plenty of tread.  The car starts easily, and the engine provides bags of power with good oil pressure. Performance is very good, gear change is smooth as is the overdrive, and the back axle is quiet.  This is an excellent car which we think will give you great pleasure to drive.  Paperwork includes a file of invoices, MOT certificates, V5C and workshop manual.

1971 MG Midget Mk II 1275 – £12,950

1971 MG Midget Mk II 1275

This is surely one of the best MG Midgets we have seen, a highly desirable round wheel arch example, in fact, it is best described as 53 year old new car!  Manufactured in late 1971, it was first registered on 6th July 1972.  The car was purchased by the current owner in 2018, when it was in a very sorry state indeed, having been stored in a garage for 17 years.  Over the last four years, it has undergone a complete restoration to original specification, including full strip-down and nut and bold rebuild.  As you can see from the photographs, the bodywork was extensively restored and the car is now in beautiful condition, well-finished in the period colour of Harvest Gold.  All the mechanics have been either renewed or properly restored, including a fully rebuilt, unleaded engine, rebuilt gearbox, back axle, brakes etc and all the electrics have been renewed.  It has newly stove enamelled wire wheels with brand new tyres all round.  New fuel tank, pipes, pump and refurbished carburettors.  A complete new, navy blue interior has been fitted – in fact – you name it, it’s been done!  Very good vinyl hood.  As you can see, the under-bonnet area is nicely detailed.  The car starts and runs as it should with excellent oil pressure, no overheating, smooth tick-over, good performance and handling, quiet back axle and gearbox.  Comes with a good restoration record including invoices and a list of expenditure (over £9,000 excluding labour) MOT to 16/12/25 and V5C.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange especially for good MGs, or for other interesting classics, and we can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.

We also sell cars on a commission basis – no sale, no charge.
