1952 MG TD – 5 Speed – A REAL BARGAIN, READ ON – SOLD

1952 MG TD

A really nice example of the ever-popular and very useable MG TD, well-finished in ivory with green leathercloth interior and black canvas hood.  The car has obviously had thousands of pounds spent on it over the years and is in excellent condition all round.  The underside of the body is extremely clean and tidy, the structure is excellent, as is the bodywork with well fitting panels, including the doors.  At the time of restoration, the car was given a quality repaint, complete re-trim in and out, rebuild of the mechanics, and the wheels were stove enamelled.  The tyres are nearly new.  The XPAG engine is a replacement unit, more than likely an MG factory unit.  The car has also been rewired and the under-bonnet area is nicely finished.  A stainless steel exhaust has been fitted.  5-speed gearbox.  Unfortunately, the engine is smoky when hot, so needs attention, hence the extremely low asking price.  Comes with full set of black canvas side screens in good condition and half tonneau, V5C and file of old MOTs.  This is a real bargain for a purchaser with some mechanical skill.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange especially for good MGs, or for othe interesting classics, and we can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.

We also sell cars on a commission basis – no sale, no charge.

1970 MGB GT with Overdrive and Heritage Shell – SOLD

1970 MGB GT with Overdrive and Heritage Shell

This very good MGB has just arrived, and is now awaiting service and MOT, which will be carried out over the next couple of weeks.  This is a really good example, having been professionally fitted with a brand new Heritage Shell in 2016/17, so absolutely no rust issues.  At the same time, the interior was completely refurbished, including part-leather black seats, new door cards and carpets, together with new sunroof frame.  Mechanically, the car was totally rebuilt, including a new Ivor Searle engine.  Gearbox, back axle and overdrive were all overhauled, and a stainless exhaust was fitted.  The Rostyle wheels were renovated, and new tyres were fitted all round.  The suspension rebuild included the fitting of telescopic dampers and parabolic springs at the rear, with the front end remaining in original spec.  The total cost of the rebuild was £24,500.  The result is a very good-looking car in a lovely shade of deep green, very similar to the well-known opalescent dark green used on E-Type Jaguars – it has covered very few miles since its restoration.  This car is a real delight to drive, nice and light, with the benefit of power steering, fitted at the time of the rebuild.  Performance is of course, very good, and the car handles extremely well – overdrive on 3rd and 4th is a great benefit.  Paperwork includes details of the renovation, old MOT certificates, and three registration documents.  Few GTs of this quality come for up for sale – so don’t miss this one – TOO LATE – YOU ALREADY DID!!

(Videos will be posted when the car comes back from its service, if it hasn’t already sold).

1954 MG TF – SOLD

1954 MG TF

First registered on 1st November 1954, this particular example, finished in Almond Green with Biscuit interior, was comprehensively restored by West Cheshire restorations between 2010 and 2013.  Extensive bodywork was carried out, together with what appears to be a full mechanical rebuild and quality re-trim, including top quality canvas hood and side screens.  The car has been in the same ownership for the past nine years, but unfortunately has not seen a lot of use.  The general condition is very good, with very good structure and well fitting-doors, immaculate part-leather interior and a clean, tidy underside. The car is now running and driving, and everything seems to be working fine.  The engine starts easily and runs well, with good oil pressure.  The back axle and gearbox are nice and quiet and we have just fitted a new battery.  The tyres have hardly done any miles – all are quality Firestones – and the wire wheels are all in good condition.  Stainless steel exhaust.  Unfortunately, the paintwork has developed some micro-blistering and due to the fact that the car has not been used much lately, it will need a full service and check over to be on the safe side – hence the very low price of £14,500.  Comes with Heritage Certificate, good file of paperwork including old MOTs back to 1974, old invoices, details of restoration work and V5C.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange especially for good MGs, or for other interesting classics, and we can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.

1978 MGB GT with Overdrive – SOLD

1978 MGB GT with Overdrive

First registered on 28/1/78, this is a very good example of the ever-popular and very useable GT.  The car was extensively and well restored between approximately 2008 and 2017, with some work also carried out prior to these dates by a previous owner, including a full structural body rebuild.  Finished in a lovely shade of British Racing Green, with black leather interior and black carpets, all in very good condition.  The car has its original engine, according to the number on the block, but it would appear that an unleaded cylinder head has been fitted in recent times.  The bodywork is in truly excellent order with all the new/restored panels fitting very well.  The paintwork is pretty much unmarked.  The underside, as you can see from the photographs, is also in superb condition.  The original Rostyle wheels have been changed for Minator alloys, with four good matching tyres.  The upholstery is in very good condition indeed, including headlining, seats and door cards.  The dashboard is also in first class order.  The Webasto sunroof slides easily and is a great plus for these GTs.  Under the bonnet has not been missed during the restoration – all tip top and nicely detailed.  The suspension is standard specification and works well, the engine provides plenty of power with good oil pressure, and the back axle, gearbox and overdrive (which were rebuilt at the time of restoration) are all in good working order.  All in all, a great driving experience, and an exceptional car, not to be missed.  Comes with large file of paperwork, including Heritage Certificate, old invoices, old MOT certificates, a memory stick with details of the restoration, V5C, and MOT to 7/4/26.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange especially for good MGs, and we can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.

We also sell cars on a commission basis – no sale, no charge.

1978 MGB GT V8 with Overdrive – SOLD

1978 MGB GT V8 with Overdrive

A genuine British Leyland V8, built in January 1974 and first registered in February of that year, supplied from new by University Motors.  The car is in truly splendid and extremely original condition, having had only five owners in its 49 year life.  The bodywork is all original and the panels fit correctly.  The paintwork was professionally refreshed several years ago and remains pretty much perfect.  The interior of the car again, is mainly as it left the factory with the exception of replacement leather seats.  The headlining, door cards, carpets and seats, are, as mentioned, first class, as is the dashboard.  The original wheels have been restored and the quality tyres are all matching Uniroyals.  The spare wheel compartment is very clean and tidy as is the under-bonnet area, all commensurate with the excellent overall condition.  The underside of the car is well Waxoyled and undersealed, this work having been carried out regularly.  The car has been properly maintained, serviced and kept up to scratch by Beers of Houghton – a very well respected MG garage, which also carried out over the years, a considerable amount of restoration work including to the engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes and the paintwork as mentioned above.  The car performs extremely well, with well sorted engine, giving plenty of power – a nice quick V8.  Oil pressure is good, no overheating, good gearbox, overdrive, quiet back axle, and good brakes.  Electronic ignition has been fitted.  The car comes with MOT to February 2026, the original sales invoice, Heritage Certificate and all original Leyland paperwork.  This must be one of best genuine V8s for sale at the moment.
