2011 MG TF 1.8N Manual – SOLD

2011 MG TF 1.8N Manual

This is one of the best examples we have seen of the ever-popular MG TF convertible, resplendent in its excellent metallic British Racing Green coachwork.  The black leather interior is in first class order, including carpets, quality canvas hood in excellent condition and hood cover.  This pretty much unmarked example has had only three previous owners and has covered only 33,000 miles from new.  It has been maintained to an exemplary standard and regularly serviced by the current owner, who has had the car for around four years.  It is obvious that previous owners have been like-minded.  This is one of the last TFs made and provides very good performance, handling and comfort.  The car starts easily and the engine is nice and quiet, with good gearbox, clutch, brakes, battery, etc.  The hood takes only a few seconds to put up and down, so nice and easy, and for extra comfort, a windbreak has been fitted behind the seats.  The under-bonnet area is almost like new and the matching Toyo tyres are all in good order, as are the original alloy wheels.  There is an immobiliser, with two keys (always important!).  Comes with MOT to 3/6/26, handbook, some old invoices and old MOT certificates.  This is a great sports car at a very reasonable price.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange especially for good MGs, or for other interesting classics, and we can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.

We also sell cars on a commission basis – no sale, no charge.

2005 MG TF – SOLD

2005 MG TF

What more do you want for £2,995?!!  This is a very smart example of the extremely popular MG TF in very good condition throughout, driving superbly, with good mechanics, bodywork – and of course, the all-important performance.   Approximately three years ago, the cylinder head gasket, cam belt, water pump and water pipes were all replaced, as is good practice, so all is in good order.  The car has a very good service history and has covered only 53,000 miles.  The bodywork is good, with only a few minor blemishes to the paintwork – to be expected on a car some 20 years old.  The black interior is very good indeed, as are the boot and under bonnet areas.  The underside is clean, tidy and structurally good.  Good matching tyres all round on alloy wheels which show no damage.  The canvas hood (which as we always say with these TFs, folds up and down quickly and easily), is in good order, and has the glass back window.  There is also a removable hood cover, as new.  Driving the car is great fun, plenty of performance from the re-chipped engine, good handling and nice 5-speed manual gearbox.  Good brakes, and no unwanted noises.  Comes with V5C, original handbook including correct service record and old MOT certificates.

1978 MGB GT with Overdrive

First registered in November 1978, this truly excellent MGB is in very good condition throughout and looks splendid in its Pageant Blue coachwork, together with its lovely interior, including rebuilt seats, good door cards, headlining and carpets.   The car has obviously been very well maintained over the years and has covered only 66,000 miles.  The bodywork is very good, with good castle sections, sills etc, and the underside is very clean.  The paintwork, including the under bonnet area and boot, is very good and is in the original colour.  Rostyle wheels with recent matching Avon tyres.  The car drives very well with strong engine, good oil pressure and no overheating.  It performs and handles very well, with good brakes, smooth gearbox and working overdrive.  Paperwork includes MOT Certificate to 14th July 2026, V5C, workshop manual, old MOTs, and old invoices.

1954 MG TF – SOLD

1954 MG TF

This is a very interesting example, originally supplied to the Lancashire police force in 1955 (obviously, black at that time), who used the car until 1959 when it was sold on.  Also used in a TV episode of Father Brown as you can see from the photographs.  This is an original 1500 model, but later in its life, at the time of its extensive restoration, a 1250 version of the XPAG engine from another TF was fitted.  For the following 40 years, the car went ‘under the radar’ but we have paperwork from 1999 onwards.  In the years leading up to 1999 and for some years afterwards, the car was completely restored, including new body tub, reconditioned ‘Fast Road’ engine with unleaded head, installation of a 5-speed gearbox, interior re-trim, full repaint, and full overhaul of mechanics.  Four good tyres are fitted on to first class disc wheels – nice to see these for a change.  The result is an excellent car which has been kept in very good condition by its various custodians, including the current owner who has had the car since 2017.  The chrome work is in good condition, the under-bonnet area is clean and tidy and the structure and underside of the car are in good order.  Driving the car is a delight, with very good performance and the nice 5-speed gearbox, which makes the car very usable in today’s traffic.  Good oil pressure, no overheating, nice quiet suspension and transmission, all in all, a very good car.  Comes with file of paperwork, including photograph of it in its police livery, V5C, and verification document from the MG Car Club.

1978 MGB GT with Overdrive – SOLD

1971 MGB Roadster with Overdrive

A lovely old car in Russet Brown, regularly used by the previous owner and offered at a very affordable price.  This will be an excellent everyday car.  Condition-wise, it has had new sills in recent yeas and obviously, some repainting, and it is in good structural order.  There are, as you would expect at this price, one or two blemishes to the paintwork.  The interior is nicely patinated and the original stripey seats have been replaced with black, leather fronted seats.  The headlining is good, as are the door cards, there is some wear to the carpets in the footwells.  The dashboard is good and a sports steering wheel has been fitted.  The car drives very well, with easy start-up, good oil pressure and offering very good performance and braking.  A Webasto sunroof is fitted, probably from new by the original dealer.  Sports alloy wheels have been fitted and the rear tyres have been replaced.  Comes with MOT Certificate to July 2026.  All in all, a very good car at a very good price and one that Mr Baker says he would be happy to drive around in all day.
