1972 MGB Roadster with Overdrive – SOLD

1972 MGB Roadster with Overdrive

Another very nice example of the MGB Roadster, in one of the favourite colours, British Racing Green, with chrome wire wheels, oatmeal interior and the highly desirable overdrive.  The car was first registered in Jersey from new, returning to the UK in 1979.  It is in very good condition, having obviously been treated to a new Heritage shell some years ago.  The paintwork is very good, door gaps are excellent, the chrome wire wheels are in fine fettle and the underside – as you would expect of a Heritage shell – is good and sound.  The car has not been used much in recent times, so we have just recommissioned it and it now has an MOT certificate to 20th April 2027.  Driving the car is a great experience with easy start-up, strong engine with good oil pressure, smooth Overdrive, gearbox and back axle – good performance and handling.  The interior was retrimmed, probably at the same time as the new body shell was fitted, with leather fronted seats, matching leather dashboard top and door cards, and walnut dashboard.  Carpets are, we think, in the colour Autumn Leaf.  The boot and spare tyre are also carpeted, the vinyl hood looks to be a recent improvement, and there is a well-fitting tonneau and hood cover.  The car comes with V5C, MOT certificate, Heritage Certificate and Workshop Manual.  Excellent value.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange especially for good MGs, or for other interesting classics, and we can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.

We also sell cars on a commission basis – no sale, no charge.

1981 MGB Roadster with Overdrive – SOLD

1981 MGB Roadster with Overdrive

An excellent value MGB Roadster, first registered on 4th March 1981, and looking very fine in its lovely (what we believe to be) Brooklands Green livery.  The bodywork is generally in good condition, with nice paintwork overall, although there are one or two areas that will require attention at some stage in order to move the car ‘up a level’.  Recently, new Minator alloy wheels have been fitted and these are in great condition as you would expect, with Yokohama tyres all round.  The interior is very smart, having been renewed at some stage, and there is a quality canvas hood, although one of the rear quarter-lights has been damaged.  There is also a hood cover.  The car has been well maintained over the years – there is a file of paperwork to support this – and it is therefore in good mechanical order, including strong engine which provides good performance.  The gearbox and overdrive are good, as is the clutch, and recently, the brakes were overhauled with new callipers, pads, brake pipes etc.  Electronic ignition has been fitted.  Oil and plugs all look new.  The underside of the car is tidy, and looks to be sound, the under-bonnet area is acceptable, but unrestored.  Comes with lots of old MOT certificates and maintenance invoices, old V5, current V5C, original handbook and workshop manual.  MOT certificate to 15th June 2027.  In summary, a great driving car and a lot of fun, for not much money, all ready to go.

1978 MGB GT with Overdrive – SOLD

1978 MGB GT with Overdrive

This MGB GT which has just come out of 14 year ownership, represents excellent value, having been extensively restored in 2006, including the conversion from rubber bumper to chrome.  The restoration included new wings and sills and a full repaint along with new fuel tank and electronic ignition.  As you can see, alloy wheels have been fitted, which are pretty much like new and have Avon tyres all round.  The paintwork is good, the under-bonnet area is smart, the carpeted boot is good and sound as are the boot corners.  The interior is in good order, with good seats, dashboard and headlining.  Quality rubber mats have been fitted.  Again, the underside of the car is structurally good, and clean and tidy.  The car starts easily and the unleaded engine provides plenty of power, with good oil pressure.  Gearbox, overdrive and clutch are all fine, so driving is a good experience.  Comes with a paperwork file of old MOT certificates, old invoices, and will come with MOT to June 2027.  This car is not perfect, but is a good value starter classic and is priced accordingly.

1973 MGB GT V8 – SOLD

1973 MGB GT V8

This excellent example of the highly desirable factory V8 was in the same ownership for 41 years prior to the current keeper’s ownership, and during that time was been stripped down and meticulously restored and improved, resulting in a very fine motor car indeed. The restoration began in 1995 and continued for a number of years. The work included an extensive body rebuild, incorporating new three-piece sills, front wings, rear half wings, and all the other areas usually requiring attention. The mechanics have been overhauled, the wheels replaced, stainless steel exhaust has been fitted, along with plumbed-in power steering, electronic ignition and uprated front discs and callipers. As you can see from the photographs, the opalescent dark blue paintwork is in excellent condition. The interior has been improved with walnut dash and centre console, and has been professionally upholstered including part-leather seats. The headlining is like new and quality factory-type footwell mats have been fitted. The underside is in excellent structural order and is very clean and tidy – nothing to do there. The engine bay is nicely detailed. The powerful V8 engine, which still has its original cast iron manifolds and pancake air filters, runs as sweet as a nut. Driving the car is an exhilirating experience, with lots of power, smooth overdrive and back axle, and very efficient brakes. The five matching tyres are all pretty much like new. Comes with V5C, Heritage Certificate, file of invoices and old MOT certificates, workshop manual and handbook. MOT to August 2026.

1974 MGB Roadster with Overdrive – SOLD

1974 MGB Roadster with Overdrive

We are very pleased to offer for sale this very late chrome bumper MGB Roadster, first registered on 1st August 1974.  This very good example was restored some ten years ago and has covered only around 20,000 miles since.  The car was restored to a good standard, using the original body shell and replacing body panels where necessary.  The engine, which is now unleaded, was reconditioned, as were the gearbox and overdrive together with the clutch.  Recently, a new quality canvas hood was fitted, along with matching hood cover and a Moss sports exhaust was fitted at some stage.  The chrome wire wheels are in excellent condition and are fitted with Michelin tyres all round.  The car remains in very good order throughout, with good paintwork, nice interior in excellent condition – and to the original specification – and a good clean underside.  The under-bonnet area is in very nice condition; the boot floor is excellent and is carpeted.   The strong engine performs very well indeed with bags of power, and ticks over well – in fact, it has just covered 400 miles from Inverness to our garage where it is now for sale.  Comes with original steering wheel if you wish to fit it, tonneau cover, car cover, and file of paperwork which includes old invoices, old MOT certificates, V5C and will come with MOT certificate to June 2027.

1977 MGB Roadster with Overdrive – SOLD

1977 MGB Roadster with Overdrive

This is an absolutely superb example (and probably one of the nicest available at the moment), well finished in a lovely shade of red with black part-leather interior, quality double-duck hood and the all-important overdrive.  The car was extensively restored some 20 years ago, the renovation included a brand new Heritage body shell, Ivor Searle rebuilt engine and gearbox, mechanical rebuild and full retrim.  The car has covered approximately 16,000 miles since then and has been meticulously maintained.  The red paintwork is in lovely condition as are the interior, the bumpers, the wheels and the underside.  We think the matching tyres, which have done very little mileage, are around four years old.  Both doors fit very well, as do the boot and bonnet, the engine bay is nicely detailed – pretty much perfect – and the boot area is well painted and also carpeted.  The hood is under three years old and is like new, and there is a full tonneau and hood cover, again, all in A1 condition.  The car starts well, all the mechanics are good, and there are no strange noises – the Ivor Searle engine is very responsive and quick, the overdrive is smooth and the suspension is in good order (two new shockers just fitted).  The result is a great driving car which is a pleasure to sit in.  Paperwork includes Heritage Certificate, V5C, old invoices, old MOT certificates, workshop manual and will come with MOT to April 2027.
