1977 MGB GT with Overdrive – SOLD

1977 MGB GT with Overdrive

This is a rare opportunity to purchase such a low-mileage example (24,637 miles from new), supported by all the relevant MOT certificates.  This is a truly original spec car – just as it left the factory, so it has not been messed about with or spoilt.  It is well finished in Carmine Red, with original, unmarked interior, right down to the stripey grey seats which suit the car very well.  There are a few minor blemishes on the bodywork, hence the price, whilst the underside is tidy and very sound, including the floors, which are still painted in their original red.   The car is a delight to drive, with easy start-up, and everything working just as a low-mileage car should.  Strong engine, gearbox and back axle and a very smooth overdrive.  The wheels have been refurbished and are fitted with quality Firestone tyres.  First sold by Lex Ltd of Stourbridge, it has had only two owners from new, the most recent owner from 2018.  Comes with Heritage Certificate, V5C, and we will MOT the car before sale.  There is a good file of paperwork, including old invoices, old MOT certificates dating back to 1980, maintenance invoices from the most recent owner, handbook and workshop manual.  There is even a Leyland Supercover sticker on the windscreen, and an AA Members’ Handbook from 1976/77.  A lovely, original car, which is increasing difficult to find.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange especially for good MGs, or for other interesting classics, and we can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.

We also sell cars on a commission basis – no sale, no charge.

1971 MGB Roadster with Overdrive – SOLD

1971 MGB Roadster with Overdrive

Fancy something a little different?  Then this splendid MGB Roadster might be just the one for you – this model comes with both soft and hard top.  According to the Heritage Certificate in the paperwork file, the car was built April to May 1971, and was finished in Teal Blue with Autumn Leaf interior; factory equipment at the time of build included Rostyle wheels, tonneau cover, seat belts and overdrive.  First registered on 23rd June 1971, this is a matching numbers car.  By 1995, the car had covered only 75,500 miles, then was taken off the road in 2007, before having a full, professional rebuild in 2020.  The mileage now reads 77,000.  The restoration included full body renovation with all rust-affected panels being replaced, and it was refinished in its original Teal Blue.  The engine was fully rebuilt as were the brakes and suspension.  New Cosmic wheels were fitted, together with Pirelli tyres.  The upholstery was totally renewed including leather seats and canvas hood, and is all first class – the whole car was very nicely detailed.  It now remains in excellent condition, including very smart engine bay and boot, together with a very clean underside finished in blue.  The car drives well, with strong engine, good gearbox, back axle and overdrive.  Accompanying paperwork file includes V5C, Heritage Certificate, history of the car, the rebuild schedule from JMB Motorsport who rebuilt the car, MOT certificates dating back to 1995, and current MOT certificate to 30th June 2026.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange especially for good MGs, or for other interesting classics, and we can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.

1980 MGB GT LE with Overdrive – Matching Numbers – SOLD

1980 MGB GT LE with Overdrive

Another excellent MGB, this time one of the rare Limited Edition models – this is number 538 of 580 built, with a build date of 17th October 1980 – it has covered only 80,000 miles from new.  Original equipment included alloy wheels, Pewter metallic paint, front spoiler and silver body decals.  This car, although mainly original, has had lots of restoration over recent years and is in very good order throughout.  There are a few minor blemishes to the paintwork, but good panel fit, structure, and a clean and tidy underside.  The interior is extremely good, including replacement carpets and door cards, and original headlining in good order.  The door cappings and dashboard are now walnut.  Replacement seats have been fitted from another LE that had travelled no miles.  The alloy wheels were properly refurbished at some stage.  The car runs and drives as it should, with plenty of power from the engine, smooth gearbox, back axle and clutch.  Overdrive on third and fourth works well, and electronic ignition has been fitted.  Paperwork file includes old MOT certificates, some invoices, a certificate from the MGB Jubilee and LE Owners’ Club, and current MOT to 5th July 2026.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange especially for good MGs, or for other interesting classics, and we can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.

1968 MGC GT with Overdrive – SOLD

1968 MGC GT with Overdrive

This very original MGC, finished in Snowberry White with black interior, was built in November 1968 and first registered in August 1969.  Originally supplied by Wheatley Motors Ltd  of Stockton-on-Tees, it still retains its original Middlesbrough registration number and original engine and has been in long-term ownership – some 30 years – since 1995, with only three owners from new.  There is a good history file with the car, which gives a good idea of the maintenance throughout its life, including mechanical work, bodywork and paintwork.  The interior of the car appears to be all original, although to be honest, it would benefit from a little improvement.  The headlining is very good.  The glass, including windscreen, which is etched, is in good order, the bodywork, which has obviously had some restoration including a repaint several years ago, is good – as are all the seams, as you can see from the photographs.  The underside structure of the car is good.  The car was originally purchased with wire wheels and overdrive as extras and these are all in good order.  A new clutch has just been fitted, the gearbox has been rebuilt, and the radiator refurbished.   The under-bonnet area is nice and tidy.  Mechanically, the car runs very well with plenty of power, good oil pressure, and the suspension and brakes all seem to be working fine.  All round, a very good, unspoilt  car, realistically priced to allow for a little work to the interior, but extremely useable as it is.  Paperwork also includes Heritage Certificate, V5C and workshop manual and MOT to February 2026 with no advisories.

We are always pleased to consider part-exchange especially for good MGs, or for other interesting classics, and we can offer economic delivery to most parts of mainland Britain.

We also sell cars on a commission basis – no sale, no charge.

1974 MGB GT with Overdrive – SOLD – MORE NEEDED

1974 MGB GT with Overdrive

Beautifully finished in Snowberry White, this is an excellent example of the ever-popular MGB GT – a very usable classic sports car.  The car was extensively restored a few years ago, both bodily and mechanically and the interior was also restored, including good quality leather seats.  It has obviously been very well maintained since then, and remains in very good order throughout.  A new exhaust was fitted recently, along with a brand new set of Uniroyal tyres.  The bodywork is pretty much unmarked with very well-fitting panels, good seams front and back, and the boot and under-bonnet areas are well finished in body-colour paint.  The underside of the car including sills, castle sections, jacking points etc, is all in very good condition and the whole under-body area is nice and clean and tidy.  The car drives very well indeed, with strong engine , good clutch, quiet gearbox and back axle, and properly working overdrive.  The interior is very good, with excellent dashboard, seats, headlining and good carpets.  Comes with clean MOT to 24/10/26, V5C, and the usual free historic tax and low insurance.  Offered for sale only due to unforeseen circumstances – and not to be missed.
